Housing Complex

So, it's been like a billion years since my last post. The house in the picture above is the reason why. I'm attempting to buy it.

There are a few reasons why it's odd. First, I'm 24 years old. 24 year olds don't buy houses in the middle of Atlanta that are over $350K. Secondly, I'm a sole proprietor with ASO, so that makes it look like I make a ton of money each year. Lastly, I only started the business in 2003 with it picking up in 2004, so my tax returns for 2004 make me look poor, by comparison to 2005. So, it's been a challenge just to get a mortgage.

In other news, I'm still waiting on Comcast to understand that installing two CableCards isn't rocket science and they just need to send a dude out to pop two in. I'm on appointment #3 tomorrow. The first appointment last Monday was a joke. A contractor came out with only one CableCard, whereas the order indicated two. He said he had a CableCard 1.0 and was absolutely convinced that a 2.0 card was required. He somehow thought the 1.0 form factor was different from the 2.0. It's not; they're both just standard PC Card size and there is plenty of documentation on the Tivo site about it. The best part was when I finally convinced him to at least try, he left and never came back. He had also said he would come back the next day, but I never saw or heard from him. So, Monday was supposed to be the next appointment attempt. I had requested a Comcast tech, not a contractor. The same fucking moron tech called me up. And, on top of that, his phone cut out and he didn't even bother to call back. Wonderful. Tomorrow is appointment attempt #3 and I hope they'll get this right this time. I'm already pretty determined to see this contractor fired. You slide the CableCard in the slot, call Comcast, and tell them some numbers on the screen. That's it. Apparently they have self-install kits in Washington, but we're not so lucky down here. It's easy enough for a mere mortal to do, so why waste a tech/contractor's time? I knew more about the thing than the contractor did! grumble....
